hello all

well it certainly has been a while - doesnt time fly when you are having fun, as the saying goes.

This year has seen many progressions so far:

  • have started to study photography with the IDI.  It is meant to be for about 4 years or so but i will see how I go on. One of the bridges images that I have uploaded is for my course work.  I am learning lots but its not easy.
  • went to the NEC photography show with Graham Watson of NY images
  • I sold my first set of 5 flowers in one frame yipee.
  • I have purchased a second hand nikon d5100 and a tamron 18-270 lense so I am enjoying my new kit.
  • been going on road trips with Debbie Priestly of NY images to do a bit of the old photography
  • visited the Hepworth Gallery to see the work of Philip-Lorca diCorcia - I was impressed as this was my first time at a photographic exhibition
  • and visited the Bradford Media Museum with Debbie to see the work to Tony Ray Jones and Martin Parr
  • I have updated this website but I am limited to the amount of images i can put on here so I will just have to swop them when I have others to put on.
  • I  am now looking forward to getting some images (the last three spring flowers in my flower album on here) printed up with Reprotech Studios in York (if they get back to me) for the images to go for sale in York Hospital with NY images.  (I am also planning on asking the little coffee shop Peony and Gray to display some across the road from my office).

hope you like the new images - regards De

double rainbow

good evening

tonight we had a wonderful double rainbow so dashed out with the camera.  There was a full visable arc but had my 55-300 lens all so could not get a picture of the whole rainbow in its full glory and then by the time I took some shots with the lens I had on and came back for my smaller lens it wasn't quite the same.

Well it has been an interesting week as I have managed to capture some new images during my daily routine  First we had the sand storm then today I went for a walk in my lunch break to have a look at the daffodils around the walls.  Not only did I find the daffodils but came across some beautiful little goose chicks awe they are so cute.

I managed to get a couple of images and have set up another new album - Spring - enjoy

hope you all have a good weekend.

Mini Yorshire Sand Storm

Evening all

It is quite difficult to find and create new images every day for you, without making a special effort to travel somewhere. However this morning on the way into work it was quite windy and one area inparticular the wind created something like a sand storm where it was blowing the top sandy soil off the fields.  I pulled the car over and took a couple of shots which you can see below.  You can see the sandy soil heaped up in places along the fence, and the sand blowing in the background.  It was a pretty dusty experince trying to get this image.

I have added a new album tonight, all be it with one photo, at the moment - flowers.   I have also added a couple more images to the sky album.  The photos taken in Sunderland were from when I went to visit my daughter who lives up there.

In the near future I plan to purchase a micro lens then I hope to be able to generate some more lovely images of colourful flowers for you to look at but I am sad to say that you will have to wait a little while yet.

My author friend Emma (Melody Winter) who introduced me to this site has done some more editing of her own  site.  I believe that you should find the images that I took of Ravenscar for her, back up, so why not head on over for a look at

Enjoy the mini Yorkshire sand storm.

Back from Manchester and feeling a little rough around the edges through staying up a little too late.  Tweaking my site and hope to add a few more photographs for you to look at.  The next category I am thinking of is sky!

Finally worked out how to attach a link to the site and got the site varifed with Google, to hopefully improve the appearance of the site in searches.

Development of this website

Hello all

well they say that you are meant to try and do something new every day.  I don't know about you but I generally find that quite difficult, what with a full time job and the responsibliity of running a home and a family.  However, today I am on a days leave and doing something new, setting up my own personal website.  Who'd have thought it.  Thanks to Emma the budding author

On her website you will find a very small selection of some of the photographs that I took around Ravenscar on weekend in September 2012 and the reason for our weekend trip - its the setting for her story.   Dee
